A lovely stay in the wonderful Grand Hotel Rimini, a place so deeply connected to Federico Fellini that we can find a museum dedicated to him inside. It's just the beginning of a unique journey in the land of the great italian director.
From Rimini with Castel Sismondo to Santarcangelo, hometown also of the italian poet Tonino Guerra, we will touch first hand the beauty and the famous hospitality of Romagna before moving on the nearby region to follow the steps of Rossini.
First stop in the Marche: Gradara and its forteress, Rocca Malatestiana. The rest of the day is going to be dedicate to the famous composer who was born in Pesaro in 1792. In his hometown, City of Music and Italian Capital of Culture 2024 we are going to visit the Rossini National Museum.

Gradara, considered a small jewel in the hinterland of the Adriatic coast, is a characteristic example of mediaeval architecture and one of the most beautiful and famous historical villages in Italy. The original nucleus dates back to the 11th/15th centuries. Its history is inextricably linked to the Malatesta, Montefeltro, Sforza, Borgia (it was briefly the home of Lucrezia Borgia) and Della Rovere families.
Guided tour of the famous Rocca Malatestiana, which, according to the legend, was the scene of the tragic love story of Paolo and Francesca, who were discovered in each other's arms and killed by Gianciotto Malatesta, Francesca's husband and Paolo's brother, an episode immortalised by Dante in the Fifth Canto of the Inferno. The village, with its relaxed atmosphere and perfectly preserved medieval structure, is also worth a visit. The walk through the village is extremely pleasant: almost no cars, shops, craftsmen, well-kept houses with flowered balconies.
Transfer to Pesaro.
Lunch in selected restaurant with menu inspired by Rossini.
Guided tour of the Rossini National Museum (a few steps away from the restaurant) which narrates the life, the man and the greatness of the artist, but also the modernity of the work of Gioachino Rossini, illustrious citizen of Pesaro. Visitors are invited into Rossini's world, told like an opera. A fascinating tour, divided into ten rooms, follows the composer's biographical stages and the boundless operatic production of his career. The Rossini National Museum is located on the piano nobile of Palazzo Montani Antaldi, a prestigious building in the city centre, and is the jewel in the crown of the great Rossini itinerary in Pesaro, City of Music and Italian Capital of culture 2024.
Inside the Rossini Museum, a musical surprise awaits the guests.
A soprano will entertain guests with Rossini's most famous arias, accompanied by the sound of her harpsichord, in a performance that will allow guests to "dive" into Rossini's world.
The guided tour will end with the visit of Rossini’s House (duration about 20 minutes).
